SLOW HIRE

HELP NEEDED 〰️
Have you ever been slow hired? No, I’m not asking if it took an employer months to get you through the doors. I am asking if you’ve ever been soft-demanded/soft-obliged to carry out job responsibilities that typically are not a part of your job? This happens all the time. This phenomenon is now making a name for itself as employers are doing their best to cut corners and pinch pennies. However, it looks like I’m not the only one who notices it.
Where it is advantageous for people to be renaissance-like, It is important that people are payed properly and companies employ enough people to reach their goals. After wages, work-life balance needs to be the most important thing for each employer to take into consideration. Employers need to ask,“Does Jorge Jetson get to spend enough time with Elroy?” Because this work-life balance will ultimately have an effect on the employees performance and attitude. No more bribing overtime or asking people to clock out early *but continue working, no calling people in on their off days or making employees feel bad for not being available for the employer. If we want to work more, ( many of us love what we do and we love to help our team) you usually don’t have to ask. We all have goals we are saving for. Employers need create incentives to encourage more overtime (if your employees aren’t hungry enough) and if you are to promote from within, actually promote from within and create a new job title and a new salary. Dont walk the guy in to the office, offer him a 60 cent raise, and ask if he would like to fulfill the duties of a manager… People honestly shouldn’t be forced to work more than 8 hours a day. If we are going to put people before money, then a lot needs to change. People need to not only be paid a living wage, but one they can save with. It’s a new age and the playing field is evening.
If employers are going to expect us to carry more weight, those who control budgets need to make sure we are paid more. Don’t ask me to do someone else’s job and pay me exactly what I’ve been getting paid the whole time. What, are you smoking crack? If that is the case, honestly— find another job. These employers don’t realize how diverse the job market it. And there are a ton of employers paying very well. They just keep you so busy at work they make it hard for you to think about yourself in a new light. There are now so many employers looking for people online and it seems like a lot of employers are fixing/addressing their wage discrimination/discrepancies the more we, as a people, complain and strive to improve the modern work environment. The more information is out here, the less they can manipulate you into taking their pennies for your gold.
Where this article may suggest slow hiring to be beneficial for both parties, I would counter that this is the laziest euphemistic way to build a business and grow a workforce. Read the SOFI article and let us know what you are going to do to take advantage of or avoid the slow hire.
