CANDACE IN WONDERLAND
That title’s fire. But this situation is more like: Candace Owens vs. Hollywood.
Here at TSB, we love us some black media and entertainment. Night & Day Network LLC is a black owned news media company that covers some pretty interesting topics and if you’re on YouTube lookin for something controversial to make you think, this might just do it. The channel recently posted a video about Candace Owens and her comments on Harry Styles’s - style in a recent Vogue cover. In 2018, Candace Owens got a lot of shit, along with Kanye West and most recently 50 Cent, for being Trump supporters. Regardless of whether or not you agree with her, she makes some pretty valid points about taxes, trickle down economics, and propaganda. Most recently, she went on Instagram live to talk about politically correct rhetoric and how it’s threatening the natural balance of our world, and potentially the universe. The reason why we bring up the universe is because she makes it clear that this argument is not only based off of the physical nature of our world, but also concerns a spiritual realm. During her rant, she states, “There’s a whole lot of human history to look at... There is no society that can survive without strong men... when is the last time you’ve seen Hollywood be like, ‘let me promote this guy who goes to church on Sundays— that a Masculine man by the way.” We don’t have a problem with cross-dressing, but we do pay attention to the normalization of things that aren’t normal. It’s OKAY to not be normal. We love different, but how are we training the kids? We dont think she’s commenting on this one scenario, but moreso Hollywood’s continuous portrayal of stupid shit as smart stuff.
Also, at TSB, we don’t believe in concrete gender norms. For instance, we believe both the man and the woman in a relationship should be contributing to the cooking, cleaning, raising, protecting, and funding the household. However, in the same breath, we do believe our current society has low standards and its sense of values toward basic gender roles has been blurred. Furthermore, we understand the institutions that have been put in place through westernization have created a dynamic where women have historically received less for their work— so consequentially, the man became the bread winner. In the same breath, who’s to say that the blurred lines we’ve had prescribed to us are correct? We encourage you to question everything.
In conversations of drawing lines, we can start here; Biologically, It’s testosterone and estrogen. Spiritually it’s yin and yang. Each energy is more adept in different tasks, and there is no arguing that. Everyone should be treated equally as people, but we can’t try to disguise our specialties with lies or politically correct rhetoric (aka justification) to satisfy an agenda. Women are superior at nursing, just like short people are superior at navigating tight spaces. However, politically correct rhetoric will make you think men are superior at nursing and tall people are better at navigating tight spaces. Also, quick question: why are we told black people are worthless, but on the black market, black bodies and organs are most coveted? The world is upside down. Explore more HERE.
