This time around, we get to explore modern blackface vis-a-vis Zoe Saldana and (the Legendary) Nina Simone. Here at TSB, we thought we were done with that? In the age of the internet, its not hard to find the exact look and character you’re looking for— for any job. Watch this mini-doc by BLACK FEMININITY TV. Do you agree with the argument of the Zoe Saldana or that of the film? Its sad that, in 2021, we are still debating proper black representation. This is what happens when films about black people aren’t directed by true black people and it gets deeper when you start to factor in the racial and political motives within the film industry. The actress apologized in late 2020, but we haven’t heard anything from the director. Let us know what you think. PEACE
